Compensate your carbon footprint now and live climate neutral
Man-made climate change is real. We can all do something to protect the climate in everyday life and avoid greenhouse gases. First, reduce your emissions wherever possible. Then go to the last step and live climate neutral through the transparent compensation of your unavoidable emissions. Support the global energy transition towards renewable energies and more climate action. Of course, carbon offsetting is only the second best solution - it would be better to avoid all greenhouse gases from the start. However, our lifestyle currently does not enable a climate neutral life solely through personal efforts to avoid emissions. This can currently only be achieved by offsetting your no longer reducible emissions. And time is of essence!
Without a doubt, our modern lifestyle causes a lot of climate-damaging CO2. At 11.6 t, every citizen is more than 2 times higher than the global average emissions of 4.9 t per person. The Paris Climate Agreement of 2015 tells us that we need to be climate neutral by 2050 - so there is still a very long way to go!
Take the first step now and start taking action yourself instead of just waiting for politicians and companies. For each of us, it is possible to avoid CO2. You will find out how you can do this here.
For all of you who want more details about youe specific personal CO2-footprint, we recommend to visit the CO2-calculator of the Federal Environment Agency. You can use your personal information to calculate the emissions of your individual CO2-footprint and then offset your emissions here. This second option for offsetting your greenhouse gas emissions is more individual than the first solution described above, but it also requires more time and information.
Whether your climate protection commitment is ultimately based on flat-rate or individually calculated emission values is not really decisive for climate action - it is important that you take action at all!
